The Directory of American Philosophers contains information about university and college philosophy programs, academic journals, philosophy research centers, professional organizations, and philosophy publishers in the United States and Canada. First published by Archie Bahm in 1963, it was continued in new editions for over fifty years by the Philosophy Documentation Center. Each edition provided a comprehensive overview of activity in the field. The final edition was published in 2023.

This difficulty can, however, be mainly obviated by numerous cross girts, which will be found in most lathe frames having flat tops.
