Crises and Critique
Eco-ethical and Socio-philosophical Issues
Our capacity to act¡ªconceived as the ability to interpret within complex technological environments¡ªis increasingly constrained by dynamics of structural disruption and a broader crisis of governmentality. This destabilization of normative frameworks calls for a renewed socio-philosophical engagement with the art of interpretation. In hypermodern societies, this crisis manifests through the opacity of digital technologies, which operate via imperceptible flows of data and information. While screens mediate our perception of the world, they obscure the architectures that underpin them, confining us to a structural invisibility that complicates hermeneutical efforts. Addressing this challenge entails developing a critical approach attuned to the ethical and ecological implications of digital life. The opacity intrinsic to these technologies obliges us to rethink and reconfigure our interpretive tools, thereby reaffirming the practical urgency of critical judgment in the digital age.
