It was sponsored by Peking University in cooperation with the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés de Philosophie (FISP). The theme of the Congress was "Learning to be Human." This collection contains papers from the plenary sessions, symposia, and endowed lectures. It was published in English in paperback print format by The Commercial Press in Beijing.
