This volume brings together major German and French representatives of the hermeneutic approach to translation and offers an interdisciplinary view of recent discussions on this subject. The main topics include the basic problems of translation, such as the role of the translator in the translation process and his/her approach to the text from the point of view of comprehension, interpretation or creativity. The contributors suggest several ways of applying the hermeneutical approach to the didactics of translation. They also examine the possibility for philosophical discourse to lay the foundations of translation theory. This volume encourages an interdisciplinary dialogue within the approach of the hermeneutics of translation, including the ¡°interpretative theory¡± of the Paris School.

Der vorliegende Band f¨¹hrt erstmalig bedeutende Vertreter aus den genannten das ¨¹bersetzungshermeneutische Denken konstituierenden Disziplinen zusammen und bietet so einen ?berblick ¨¹ber die neueren Entwicklungen dieses ?bersetzungskonzepts in seiner Interdisziplinarit?t. Besprochen werden Grundprobleme der Translation wie die Rolle der ¨¹bersetzenden Person im ?bersetzungsprozess und sein Umgang mit den Texten im Blick auf Verstehen, Interpretation, Kreativit?t der Formulierung u.a. Wege zur Anwendung des hermeneutischen Konzepts in der ?bersetzungsdidaktik werden aufgezeigt und die Tragf?higkeit des zugrundeliegenden philosophischen Diskurses f¨¹r die Translationstheorie wird ¨¹berpr¨¹ft. Ein wesentlicher hermeneutischer Grundsatz ist Perspektivit?t und Dialog, und in diesem Geiste wird hier ein interdisziplin?res Gespr?ch im Rahmen des ¨¹bersetzungshermeneutischen Ansatzes selbst angeregt, wobei auch die th¨¦orie interpr¨¦tative der Pariser Schule einbezogen ist.
